“Music in the Woods was an inverse approach to design. The space was already there, but forgotten, it was our job to find a reason for people to rediscover this space built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in 1930.”

Music in the Woods is a concert series created by Indigenous Ingenuities to breathe life back into a forgotten space. It began in 2007 and is still going today, which serves as a testament to the success of the project and evidence of the community’s need for this kind of space. It has hosted scores of local singer/songwriters from the Greenville, South Carolina region, supporting their craft and supplying a one-of-a-kind venue surrounded by beautiful nature. It was also the first outside music series in the country powered entirely by solar energy. Its mission embodies so much of what we as a company still believe in today - sustainability, community, supporting local economies and artists, and preserving history. In 2024, it will be celebrating its 17th consecutive season!
